The Ophir Charter Review Committee distributed a community survey in November 2025 to assess resident experience with the current General Assembly form of government and openness to considering changes. The survey was distributed by email through the Town Manager, on the town's Facebook page, by text message, and by posted notice in the trash room. It remained open through late November 2025 and received 63 responses in its final closed dataset.
The survey did not ask respondents to evaluate any specific alternative governance option. It assessed experience with and attitudes toward the current GA system only. Survey findings are cited throughout the Extended Model Notes as deliberative context, not as evidence for or against any particular option.
A Note on What This Survey Does and Does Not Show
The survey measured satisfaction with the current system and openness to change. It did not ask residents to choose among governance options, evaluate any specific reform, or indicate which problems they most want addressed. Those questions are for the community deliberation this document is intended to support. The committee treated the survey findings as context for its work, not as a mandate for any specific direction.
